Vegas trip
so, just got back from Vegas. Here's a recap.
Me Louise Russ and Tom set out at 6am yesterday, headed to Primm, shopped for about 2 hrs... got to Vegas, walked around, checked out the new hotel "Palazzo" (Venetian upgrade). It's really nice and simply designed, in my opinion. Haha, we got to the Venetian and we were like... OHHHH we went here in Italy! It's designed after St. Marco square!!! lol. Walked around a bit more looking for lunch.. settled on Chipotle haha. Mmm :) Russ and Louises's first them there actually.
Went to Bellagio, had gelato of course... sigh, the pistachio one was soooo sub-par, even compared to other American ones. I'm not gonna even bother trying to compare it to Italy gelato lol. Then we went to the Flamingo to check in. Settled in a bit, then hopped over to Jason's room next door to play... *drumroll* 6 player spades lol.
After that we met up with Robert and Ken, and all headed over to the Bellagio. Russ and Tom did some gambling - both came up, yay! Then off to the buffet at Bellagio. As always, chilean sea bass rocks! :D Among other things lol. Although they did have some really off-tasting items. Salmon/tuna poke, miso soup, and flan amongst those. We decided to be super asian and stuffed my purse with Clementines, lol...
Headed back to the hotel to drop off them goodies! Then watched 2 of the Bellagio water fountain shows (yay! kept up tradition!! although, it's been a really long time since I've seen my favorite one, I hope they didn't take it out.. I don't think so, though.. at least, I hope not... haha). Then off to watch O!
The atmosphere was very.. calm.. and pretty. Overall it was a good show, but compared to some of the others, the acts after a while seemed a little bit repetitive? Like, just change the scenery some, but mostly same acts? But still good.
Then attempted to find some cheap tables at Bellagio to no avail (go figure, nighttime gambling is expensive)... headed over to Planet Hollywood.. again, no luck. Actually Tom and Russ tried their luck at the Big Wheel again... not so much luck this time around. So we pretty much headed back. Louise and Russ went up first, Tom and I tried our luck at a paigow table in Flamingo.. 3 hands for me, all paigows -_- so I quit. Tom played until we got the waters that we had ordered.. and then we left. Got back to the room, ensue zzz's.
This morning I woke up before all 3 of them, so I went down to the Flamingo gardens and hung out with Jason for a bit. Then Tom got up and went to gamble a bit more; we met up and went up to pack up/check out. Then all 4 of us headed to Caesar's Palace. Louise/Russ split up to check out the shopping area... Tom and I wandered the casino. No good tables there, so back to the Bellagio (yes I know, I spent most of my time in Vegas there... what can I say, it really is my favorite casino, lol. They've the food, the gelato, I have better luck at tables there, and they have the fountain show! What more can I ask for!?). Played for about 20 minutes, we won, yay :D Made up for my lost money from paigow and then just a little bit more...
and then we went home. Stopped by the "Mad Greek" restaurant... I had a shawarma pita thing, Tom and Louise and gyros, and Russ had hummus + falafel. mmmmm good. Tom got a strawberry shake too, and Louise got baklava. Delicious. So then we continued our journey home, and here we are!
...and to think in 5 days I'm flying out to colorado o_O craaaazy!
haha I didn't mention... Louise got sick on Thurs... Tom's been sick since New Year's, and I got sick Fri. Hopefully we didn't manage to get Russ sick.. keep up those airbornes, lol! I think the three of us are pretty much over our sicknesses now though, thankfully. I guess if I had to pick I'd choose to be sick this weekend rather than next, when it's going to be super cold and I'm going to have to be skiing down the mountain!
