WAY TO GO, TYLER!!!
I am in my office jumping for joy. Just got an e-mail from Tyler (age 9)and his teacher saying that he passed his TAKS test! For those who don't know TAKS stands for TX Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. Every 3rd grader in TX must pass the reading portion of the test or they can not be promoted to 4th grade. It is an awfully stressful time for all involved. The teachers end up spending the whole year teaching for the test.
I am so proud and relieved. He has come such a long way in the last year. I am going to plan some sort of special celebration for him.
