holiday work...
in the interest of avoiding the annual "christmas crazies" - that being the ridiculous amount of stress i end up feeling as the holiday rolls up b/c of all the shit i need to get done, i have been pretty careful about spacing out my shopping, wrapping and cooking.
so far so good, i think. all presents (with the exception of four pieces of jewelry that pipes will be bringing tonight) are bought, wrapped, and packed up in bags to haul over to the 'rents. made pralines (i think they are nasty sweet, but my aunt wanted them). as soon as the brine boils, three jars of pickles will be ready for the fridge. after that, i boil the eggs. tomorrow, three batches of dough (ginger hearts, linzer, and choco-peppermint) and i will crack and peel the eggs. Monday, devil the eggs (that sounds like i will be poking them with sticks!), bake the cookies, jam and sandwich the linzers. i have already been through three boxes of brown sugar.
i shouldn't get to cocky, cuz god knows something could go horribly wrong....but i think everything is under control.
