Well opening weekend was ok. Not perfect but not too bad. The first day I swallowed a bug during my big speech at the beginning of Act II. I choked a little. I tried to pass it off as Imp-ish laughter, but I don’t think anyone bought it. Poor bug. Didn’t realize that show business would be the end of him.
Anyhoo.
I am sooooooo glad the show has started. Now I can do things that normal people do. Like see my Girlfriend more then once a week, eat a meal while sitting down…at a table…using utensils, Sleep more then 4 hours a night, not speak in iambic pentameter while at work, do laundry, and generally have a life.
This just in.
We just got our first review for the show. And I can say that for the most part. “Our Play is preferred”. (Bottom) We received four out five stars in the International Shakespeare Revue. Not bad if do say so myself. We’re all very happy and pleased with ourselves. It’s nice to know that our months of hard work and countless mosquito bits have paid off.
That said. I can not wait for this show to be over so that I can get a freakin haircut and shave off this beard. Although others tell me how well the long hair looks on me, I just can’t get into it. Besides it’s costing me a fortune in conditioner.
Tonight I start rehearsing for a play reading series that goes on in 2 weeks. I really need to learn to start saying NO when asked to do projects. But I’ve been bored and somewhat lonely lately with Mizz G. being in school and studying most nights. But it’s all for the greater good, blah blah blah………. I’m just looking forward to us sleeping in on weekends again, having a leisurely morning at the farmers market, eating oysters while sipping beer. Simplicity is indeed bliss.
