Best of OverClocked Remix, Part Two: Capcom Edition

Jun 12, 2007 10:20

Track: Metalman Goes Clubbing
Game: Mega Man II
Comments: Techno remixes are par for the course at OCRemix-the trick lies in finding the good ones. This is one of them; that it's a track from the musically solid Mega Man II makes it that much better.

Track: The Amazon Session
Game: DuckTales
Comments: What's rarer on OCRemix are jazz remixes and fortunately, the few that crop up tend to be real gems. "The Amazon Session" has long been a favorite of mine, bringing back memories of a fun game (with a really ridiculous control scheme).

Track: Credits Theme (One Credit Finish Mix)
Game: Street Fighter II: Champion Edition
Comments: A very bouncy and light techno mix. Bonus points for using samples from the original game.

Track: This Feeling
Game: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Comments: What I have the hardest time finding on OCRemix are remixes of tracks from some of my current favorite games, especially if they're games that have been made within the past six or seven years. This is the only Phoenix Wright mix on there, but fortunately, it's a good one, and really embellishes the "anime soundtrack" feel of the original track (not to mention that of the entire OST). Now if there were just remixes of "Congratulations Everybody" (first heard when April May is introduced), "Oo-edo Soldier Tonosaman" (the Steel Samurai theme), "Investigation - Cornered (Variation)", and... hell, the OST as a whole, I'd be happy ^_^
