This article is extremely interesting. I've encountered no shortage of people with these kinds of attitudes, and I find it interesting that they've funded a study on it. Plus, I like how it points out how people are getting. I mean, dude, honestly. You're a college student. Hooray. Good for you, asshole. So what? You're not the only one -- look how bloody many colleges there are in the world.
People need to get over themselves. If you're a college student, I can understand not being able to work full-time. But that doesn't entitle you to special shifts. You work your college homework and extracurricular stuff AROUND your other schedules. I can understand not being able to work certain hours because you're in class during those hours. But saying "Oh, I can't work [insert shift] because I go to school and I need that time for homework" is bullshit. ESPECIALLY if you bring your effing homework to work with you and work on it during your breaks or when you think the manager's not looking!
I get tired of people who have this attitude of "I'm a college student, I'm too good to work that kind of job." -- Hey, buddy! Flipping burgers at MacDonald's may not be glamorous, but it's a paycheck, and it'll help fund you through college so you can get that "dream job" (don't even get me STARTED on the concept of dream jobs, I think they're the biggest lie this society has ever concocted!)
...
wow. I kinda blew a gasket, didn't I?
*slinks off*
NOTE TO F-LIST: I'm not trying to target any of you, I'm not talking about any of you! I'm talking about people I encounter at work who complain about their OMGSOBIZZY! lives because they're college students. So for those of you who are college students, please don't take it personally, I'm not aiming at any of you! Honest!
