It's so unexpected
every time you say hello.
The sun is high in the sky
watching you approach the shady swing.
Warm rays radiate
from your olive skin.
And you greet me,
the word flowering from you lips.
It's simple for you
yet I know it won't last.
It never lasts.
The flow of your hair beats in the wind.
The swing for two moves as you sit
next to my pale thigh.
No words to be spoken.
Only the soft kiss on my cheek.
Followed by a passionate one.
The sun slowly sinks
disaproving our secret love.
Our crime is our devine
unspoken lust.
Drifting from one place to the next
Why is it that we cannot be?
In what life will we ever be free?
We know all too well what is fated for us.
The searing eyes of mankind.
Peircing our skin with arrows
Driving us out.
Until your sudden goodbye wakes me from a dream
of pain and fire.
Just so the cycle can start again.
My dreams cursed by your everlasting look.
Why must this be?
Why can't I be free?
