Reliving 9-11

Sep 10, 2006 09:09

The last weeks especially have been filled with docu-dramas, movies, and special news shows about 9-11-01.

Do we really know what the accuracy is in these "films"? Do those of us here really know the true accuracy of what really happened on that day in Boston, DC, New York and Pennsylvania?

What I know, or think I know, is what has been fed to me through the media for the last 5 years. What I do know is what my friends in Boston, New York, and DC have told me, while reliving their experiences. I know that I lost 3 friends that day, two who were living in New York and one who was there for a business meeting. I know that they were taken from this earth in a terrifying and tortuous manner. When I think about 9-11, I think about Jennifer, William, and Chad and I think about their families. Their families relive that day every time they turn around it seems. Why should all of these people and families be forced to see reanctments and docu-dramas of one of the worst days in the history of our country?

There's not much else I can say about this. I won't be watching the films, the docu-dramas, or the special news coverage. I will spend the day remembering my friends and their families. I will also spend the day thinking about all of our soldiers and their families that are on duty. These men and women deserve or support, even of we don't support the cause. Some of them are also very special to me and to them, I wish God speed and come home soon!
