My phantom stitches hurt. My foot is all swadled like a newborn babe again since I got my stitches out yesterday. I finally got a close look at my foot and the stitches were cool... very clean. I should've taken another grotesque picture but decided I didn't need any more. I think my foot nerves went into shock halfway through it because it hurt like HELL the first 3 ones that she pulled then after that I just felt a little bit of snagging and not much else. But now, it hurts... still. I know it's just the skin healing around the little holes left by the thread but really, is all this pain necessary? Of course, to top it all off, I had a massive migraine yesterday. Woohoo, sensitivity to light and sound! Makes doing anything kinda impossible.

I told my doctor that it still hurts and that it's still painful to the touch... he scoffed and said it would hurt for probably another 6-8 weeks and the swelling will continue for at least the next few months. Great. So much to look forward to. Regardless, I will be going back to work next week, I believe. I don't know if I should go in and request more time off but I seriously doubt it's going to matter much for my foot. Besides, I have to push myself anyway or I'll never get off my butt.

Today, though, I'm taking it easy by cleaning. Oh yeah, that thing that I just love to hate. My room looks like a tornado blew through it... but I suppose that's it's natural state. Another aunt from MA is on her way here to stay with us and my mother is tired of passing by my room and seeing the horror within. I guess I owe her that much since she's been taking care of my while I've been an invalid.

On another note, I'm still anxious about my application. It'll be a few more weeks before it gets its initial review but in the meantime, there's nothing I can do. I keep checking on the status online and they haven't registered that they've received any of my transcripts. Nervewracking, I tell you. All that's left is to let fate take its course and sit here and twiddle my thumbs. Exciting.

Alright... to the cleaning!
