the goodness of friends...

Rocky Horror went off without a hitch and I gotta say, it was great poppin' the cherry of Laura and Maureen (both from work) as they experienced their first live show of the cult classic!! It was crazy fun because Laura and I actually spent the afternoon shopping for more accessories to wear for that night... we ventured out to Capitol Hill and spent our time at Hot Topic and Red Light (sorta like a second hand store), although when we passed Urban Outfitters both of us had to resist the urge to just jet in there and buy ACTUAL clothes. I'll have to make a note of it, though, since I haven't been to Urban in such a long time.

But yeah, after shopping our little patooties off we went and had dinner near my house at Hi-Life (one of my fave neighborhood eateries) and then got ourselves ready in record time! I spent most of the time trying to find the right thigh highs and the right top (I didn't want to wear JUST my bra, really)... and I ended up doing my make-up and hair in 10 minutes, right before we had to go pick up Maureen from work.

So we drove up to the restaurant, picked up Maureen, and went on our merry way to Rocky... on the ride there Maureen proceeded to strip in my car and get changed into her hoochie outfit. Neither Laura nor I had realized that this was the first time Maureen would be seeing the movie AT ALL!!! Now, Laura and I have seen the movie countless times (not together, tho) so it was fun getting ready and seeing her transformation into her version of Columbia (with a fabulous updo, I must admit... I did a good job)... Maureen's transformation, however... maybe it was cuz I saw her get into the car in one thing and then saw her when we got out of the car in a hot little number, but her transformation was amazing!

There are pictures of the night but I'll have to wait to get them from Laura... hopefully that'll be soon.

Laura ended up spending the night (can I say, she's a bed hog as well...!!!) and we did a little more impulse shopping in the morning at Fred Meyer when she asked if I could help her dye back her eyebrows to a darker color (she'd had them lightened the day before... but it was too light). Then we met up again later for dinner, along with her boyfriend Alex and Jessica C (also from work)... we went out for sushi and stuffed our faces and Ken-san (the owner) made fun of me for always ordering my favourite, banana tempura, for dessert. We ended up ALL ordering one and as usual, the dessert did not disappoint...

Fun-filled weekend with friends... hopefully it'll continue. There are other things on my mind as well, some of which I'm not actually at liberty to disclose, but that will have to wait for another update.

... pictures of Rocky night will be posted soon... until then, enjoy this Rocky night pic from October...
