what happened?

I haven't updated much these days mostly because all that I've been doing is working and sleeping and getting over colds. Well, yesterday, I didn't do either! I attended the Seattle Cooks!! event over at Qwest field where you get to eat and sample food, see some kitcheny stuff and sample some wine. It was good, the food was delicious, and the wine was not a disappointment. After Nora and I had our fill of wine, we left the event and headed for another event: a Mary Kay party at her friend Mel's house. It went well, I am now a Mary Kay consultant so if you want to buy some stuff you can ask me, and I got some stuff as well. We stayed a little longer, watched a girly movie, and had a homecooked dinner.

I'd been popping benadryl for the entire evening since Mel has a cat and for most of the night I wasn't having any problems, no itchy eyes, no sneezing, no wheezing... yeah, it was going well. But for some reason, towards the tail end of the evening, I started getting the wheezies. We left and I still had a small case of the wheezies... I got home and went to bed and figured I'd sleep it off. I needed to sleep it off since work started at 7:30am for me. I woke up at 4:30am, still wheezing. I thought maybe I needed to just adjust to the air or something, so I walked about for a little bit, and my wheezing got worse. I passed out from lack of oxygen for a little bit, and then woke up again at 5:30am. I lay in bed and tried to get control of my breathing. Nothing doing. So at 6am I called work and said that I couldn't come in today. They asked if I was sick and I said, "It's an allergy attack". I'll have to explain it tomorrow when I go in but at least there was no trip to the hospital.

So, what does that mean? Do I really have to stay away from cats? What the hell was that? I've got a sneaky suspicion that I should've taken one more benadryl before bed and tossed my cat hair clothes into the wash. But who knows.

Now I've got a whole 'nother day off... which I'm not complaining about but it does mean that I have even fewer hours this week at work and that's not necessarily good.

And I STILL haven't gone out for that 25 for $25 thing. Soon, I hope. SOON!!!
