Personal Webpages

How many of you actually have a website?  Are "personal" websites relevant anymore?

Seeing as one can setup a page at pages.google.com (or any other place) and then add embedded content from various other places, is it necessary to have tons of web hosting space?

For instance, you can create a video, post it to Youtube and embed it into your site.  You can posts images to Flickr and (I think as I've not done this yet) embed those on the site as well.  All that's actually stored on the "web host" would be the text of your page.

Am I correct in this assumption or just nuts?
