Ben and I are going to the Midwife Center in Pittsburgh on Tuesday for an introductory class thing. He's not 100% sold on the "outside the hospital" birth, and honestly I have some questions about it too, so we're both pretty interested to go to this class thing and see what they have to say. Mostly I don't want to be induced (which my current doctor does as a matter of course) but I can't say 100% that I want to have a completely natural birth. I don't know what it's going to be like, you know? I primarily don't want to increase my risk of having a C-section, which I understand that inducing often does. I know from experience that I have post-surgery recovery issues (I've only had surgery once, but I was basically knocked out for a couple of days afterward), and I'd prefer to take every precaution against having a C-section. Obviously if I need it, I need it, but I don't want it to be more likely than not. So we'll see how things go.

And no, I'm not super jazzed about driving an hour for my prenatal care.

Unrelated: Bill Irwin is on the radio - if you're like me, you won't know who he is by name but then you'll recognize the face. Apparently he's going to be on Bye Bye Birdie on Broadway, and thanks NPR, because I'm going to have songs from that show in my head all day now. Kids!

Looks like it's going to be a nice day out. I'm going to do some yoga and take Quito for a nice walk and iron three of the seven shirts that I own that I'm able to wear. Ironing seems to be more important these days. Fortunately my mom got us a new iron for our anniversary last month (romantic!) so at least it's easy.
