Things are better today than they were yesterday. I've got over half the laundry that needs to be done in the wash, I think I finished the hardware setup of that computer I was building(after three days of fine-tuning, issue tracking, and problem solving), I'm making plans to go apartment hunting in my spare time this week, and a lot of the old recycling I had kicking around has been removed.
But I still have a wickedly sick amount of studying I need to do before 4:00PM tomorrow. Fjuck.
I'm listening to Suede, who I haven't listened to since highschool. I really like that first album of theirs.... .... .... unlike their later stuff.
I wish I did not have to go to work tonight. I want to quit... SOOOOO bad, soooooo bad.
My head's still spinning, but I don't think I even know what from.
So what's in this new computer I built? Remember when I actually cared about this sort of thing? Yeah, those were the days... I honestly don't even remember exactly what I put in, but the basic stats are as follows:
CPU:
-Athlon 64 dual core 4000+, so running at 2.1ghz without overclocking. This is the newer, smaller process that consumes I think about 65ish watts during max load.
Storage:
-16x DL-DVD-RW drive.. umm... with DVD-RAM capability I think?
-3.5" 250gig Samsung SATA300
-2.5" 30gi Fujitsu IDE drive(pulled out of my old Zen MP3 player
-3.5" 20gig WD IDE drive
MB:
-some Gigabyte board with an Nvidia4 SLI chipset or something
RAM
-1gig of the cheapest 800mhz DDR2 ram I could find, split between 2 512meg pieces for dual channel lovin'
Graphics:
-the cheapest PCIe16x card I could find - Nvidia Geforce 7350(I think?) with 256 megs of memory. I have no idea what the speed or type of memory that is. I don't really care, either.
And there we have it, a new computer that I did not want nor did not need, but sort of got forced into buying with the death of my iBook. I'm sure it will serve me well my future photographic endeavors.
