Diana Krall is coming to the Mountain Winery in June! I love, love, love her voice! Reminds me a bit of Peggy Lee.
(there are some who may not know this, but when I'm not head-banging to my favorite industrial music, I'm actually a huge jazz enthusiast. They sort of tie in my book. Weird, I know. But then, you already know that I'm odd er, Aud. Heh.)

Did I mention that it's quiet at my house?? *beam* Sat out on the patio with a glass of wine at dusk last night and chatted with the cats (funny, they're all totally okay with being confined to the yard when I'm out there with them. Ahh, togetherness. *grin*). Then baked up a storm. Made one 2-layer 8" round, one 2-layer 8" square, and one bunny cake in between frying up tostadas for dinner and lunch today. The house smelled like a bakery and a taqueria at the same time. Heh.
So that's done. Next up: assemble ingredients for the icing demo, and prepare the icing for the fondant demo. I'll decorate the bunny cake Sat. night for Easter over in SC.

In the "timing" category: needed to find a financial planner to start somewhere and talk about my plans for the near-present and future. Remember that lunch I won from Kabul last week? The sponsor was -- ta-da! -- a financial planner affiliated with American Express. Scored myself a free sit-down session to start thinking about planning and investing options. I figure, who cares if I don't give him my business? He's giving me a chance to learn what questions to ask and directions to consider. Not bad for a random raffle win.
