belle chere

An interesting day... worked C shift, napped, watched 'America's Sweethearts' (John Cusack's least inspired movie I'd say), and ran with Claire in between shifts (that was a bit painful, as we ran between 7 and 8 miles yesterday--she still had pep, but I was worn out!) and then after work went to Bele Chere in downtown Asheville. Biggest block party I've ever seen...the people watching was the best part, the music was not really to my taste and my form of music appreciation is very different from those of drunken partyers. Such is life. Alba and I met a very cute baby. But Eugene definitely made my evening by presenting me with a copy of Howl's Moving Castle. The only problem is, both he and Stacy want to read it---and I'm only here for five full days more. What to do? I've had bad luck with long-distance loans, that's how I lost my first two copies. And this is the one with the decent cover! And it was a very nice gift. I'd be loathe to lose it. Maybe on my last night here we should just stay up all night and read it out loud so everyone that wants to gets to hear it. I was already thinking about just sitting up all night long in a rocking chair anyway-- I want to see the sun set and rise again one last time in 2005. I'll think about it. Later loves!
