It's never a good sign when the endodontist keeps looking at you worriedly and tells you multiple times that you can think about this and it's a lot to take in and...
The very short version is that every tooth in my mouth that has not already had a root canal, crown, or filling now needs some combination of the above with the additional option of extraction on a couple. I literally lost count of how many root canals I need. I know there are two teeth that we might be able to get away with fillings and not actual root canals, but everything else, nope. Two teeth I didn't feel anything on the cold test but that apparently just means the nerve went necrotic and is now dead, thus needs to come out.
No, I don't know what caused all this or why it's all coming to a head now. I do know that even if I had been super awesome about taking care of my teeth I probably couldn't have prevented this. My teeth just broke down.
Right now I have two upper left molars that are the worst offenders. I'm having one of those root canals done next Thursday, and the other one done the following Tuesday. I can't do them in the same appointment because molars take longer and it's a lot to go through.
I also have to talk to Dr. C about crowns and restoration and get that going, because I have to get teeth crowned before the temp fillings come out. Dr. W said he'd call Dr. C on Monday, so I will likely call over there Monday afternoon and be like "so, what now?"
The biggest problem I'm running into is time. I can only flex time so much to deal with this shit. But it has to get done, and soon.
I did call the UW School of Dentistry to see if maybe they could help me out, because they charge a lot less than dentists in private practice, but they have no availability right now and can't tell me when that might change. Also I appear to be developing a lot of anxiety toward dental work and am thinking maybe it's better to just go with the doctors I know and trust who won't take 2-3 times as long.
The last time I had teeth extracted they just gave me nitrous, but I'm wondering if I can ask them to knock me out for it this time. It's a back molar and I remember what it felt like to get the other two teeth pulled and I really really don't want to be awake for it.
We'll see, I guess.
In happier news, my iWife arrives on Tuesday! We are going to GeekGirlCon on 10/10 and 10/11, so if you'll be there lemme know, maybe we can meet up or something. Very much looking forward to seeing her.
In other happier news, Buddy is doing great and so is the dog walker.
Thursday, she was able to get him out of the house and into her car, and they basically walked in circles around the car once they parked, but they did get in a good walk. She spent some time at the end just hanging out with him and petting him to get him more used to her, and she sent me an awesome cute picture in which he has a big doggy smile. It's super cute.
Monday she's coming a bit later, between 12-2 instead of 10-12. Morgan has to close, and I'm trapped at work until 5:30, so neither of us will be home in the afternoon to let him out. But if Charli takes him out around 1pm, he'll be fine until I get home around 6, 6:30.
We really are and continue to be impressed with the company. They're called "Sarah's Pet Care" and they've been 100% awesome with us and our neurotic dog. Totally recommend if you're in the area.
Sleepytimes for beccs now. I started this post hours ago and kept coming back to it and now I'm going back to bed (was woken up for work).
