well, that did not go as planned.
This weekend has been mostly craptastic. Morgan has had a good weekend, but me, not so much.
Yesterday we were gaming, 1st ed game, at Spoo's place due to kid-wrangling. Because of this, I had to leave around 4:30 to go home and Buddy-wrangle. It had been raining all day, on and off.
I left the house, walked down a stair, and suddenly WHAM! I was on my back staring at the gray sky with water soaking into my jeans and a feeling of "...wait, what just happened?"
Slowly, I pulled myself up to sitting, and realized that I couldn't get back on my feet, because the front steps were wet and slick enough that every time I tried to get up my feet skidded and I sat down again.
I ended up texting Morgan and saying "honey, can you come out here please?" So after a minute, he came out, I explained why I was sitting on the stairs, and he went to get Spoo and Strahd so they could help me get up without falling flat on my back again.
Then I went home, but Morgan went with me because I wasn't quite up for taking care of the dog and the dog needed walking. I took ibuprofen and a muscle relaxant and crawled into bed for a while.
Today I'm being made very aware of how many parts of my body are complaining about yesterday's misadventure. I didn't break anything, and I don't think I really injured myself, but I'm stiff and sore all over and moving slowly. One part of my back is twinging in a way that makes me worried I strained a muscle, but it's not all the time, so I'm going to keep an eye on it. If I'm still feeling in this much pain tomorrow I may go to urgent care just so they can tell me it's nothing to worry about, but I may not. I'm okay, mostly, just hurting.
So that was not fun, and I still can't find my wedding band, and overall meh. I want a do-over on this weekend.
Although the part of the game I was there for was pretty awesome. I got to make the argument that my drunken cleric of Thor should have been able to cast a spell while inebriated, as he was a cleric of Thor and used to intoxication. It worked, too, although I had made my save to realize things were going on around me...
