Firewall (2006, starring Harrison Ford) was on TV tonight and I ended up watching most of it, if only to try and catch the couple of scenes that were actually shot in Seattle. There were a couple nice ones (the opening shot of the viaduct in particular), but the director's way of saying "SEATTLE!!!" was to make every scene with a view of the outdoors include rain. Seriously, is this what the rest of the world thinks of us? I might also add that Harrison Ford's office (in downtown?) had a view of the Space Needle, but that appeared to be on flat ground with no Queen Anne Hill behind it. It could have been a view from South Lake Union, but the Space Needle was too small for that.
Overall if was an okay movie; a good premise but not quite as well executed. Harrison Ford turned into Action Hero Harrison Ford about half-way through, which was predictable and messed up the tone of the movie. It was as though the director wasn't really sure what kind of movie he really wanted to make. On the plus side, Harrison Ford uses an actual Cisco router interface to do something early on, which is worth a point.
