Fragments
Title: Fragments
Fandom: KHR
Setting: Post Arcobalneo Arc -so expect a lot of spoilers and fan speculation
Rating: PG-13/T
Pairing: Giotto/Chrome eventually, but a lot of ship teasing of all characters before it gets to that point.
Summary: When the first Vongola Boss and his guardians suddenly appear, Tsuna and his 'family' have to cope with crossed communication, memory gaps and a wealth of misunderstandings.
Notes: This started as a Christmas gift one shot for Nina, but...the plot kind of grew to enormous proportions, so might take awhile to finish. Still I'm very excited about this project :3
Warning: This will be a lengthy fic and I'll try to include most of the cast of characters. This means that some chapters will have more of a particular character or characters than the rest. Just hang on and I'll eventually cover all the favorites.
Prologue
Whispers in hallways and books collecting dust, there is a power wielded by the Vongola that is passed down through the generations. It's only used when the family and what it protects are in dire situations because such power comes at a great cost...

Tawny-brown eyes slowly open. Fingers flex, curling and relaxing before limbs stretch out. Standing on unsteady legs, the young man counts down on many years it's been since he was last called upon.
Decades at the least. Perhaps fifty years at the most.
Yet he stood there in the flesh and only flesh...he'd have to remedy that soon. It didn't matter what generation had pulled him out and needed his assistance, public nudity was frowned upon in any era.
A quick glance around the room showed that there were clothes a plenty, albeit wrinkled, stained and a few sizes too small. Still, he did his best to pull on a shirt, the pants -made out of this strange and heavy blue fabric- were a problem though since holding them up proved it would be too short and tight.
Making himself comfortable sitting on the edge of the unmade bed, Giotto waited for the occupant to return.

It wasn't that Tsuna minded running errands for his mother. He just would like a little more notice than her thrusting a list in his hands and saying he'd need to hurry before all the grocery store sales ended.
“At least I left before Lambo decided he wanted to come along” was the boy's only sense of comfort as he slipped off shoes.
“I'm home!”
Nana peered around the alcove into the kitchen, “Welcome back, were you able to find all the vegetables?”
Before he could answer her question, Lambo round around the boy's mother and started rummaging through the bags.
“Hey, stop that Lambo...” Tsuna said as he tried to shake the five year old from clinging to the bags.
Green eyes shot up at him, a scowl on the boy's pouting lips, “There's not candy in here! Just yucky green things!”
“My my” Nana said in a calming tone, gently patting the boy's fluffy hair, “We'll make cookies later, okay Lambo-kun?” she asked while relieving her son of the baggage.
Once his mother and Lambo re-entered the kitchen, Tsuna stretched. Today felt like a lazy Sunday afternoon.
A small smile came on the boy's mouth as he realized that since Reborn was gone for a couple of days, he wouldn't be forced to do some weird training or study.
“Video games or take a nap...” Tsuna mulled over his choices while walking upstairs to his room.
Things had seemed to settle down again. After a couple weeks passed and no new danger or enemy had appeared, Tsuna was getting accustomed to the relaxed atmosphere.
Then the boy's shoulders slumped, “Of course that means any moment now something will happen to disrupt the peace and quiet”
Then with a shake of his head, Tsuna pushed open the door to his room...only to backtrack out of it a second later.
“What...who...why are you in my bedroom?! NAKED?!” the boy yelped, back against the wall.
“I was hoping you could answer those questions for me, Tsunayoshi” answered a man, who should have been dead.

Notes: Kind of a dull start, but it will get better, I promise. Just hang in there a little while.
