I need some help as I am running out of ideas.

I need to find a place to live in town but have specific requirements:
  1. child friendly and kids live nearby
  2. liberal and cultural (no cross-burning areas like the one in the 'Burgh I grew up in)
  3. not $$$$$ expensive (not too far into triple digits)

Hm. Well, Bloomfield isn't really large enough to have sections. Friendship, where I live, has beautiful houses cut up into appartments, but it's more expensive and closer to Garfield, so possibly less safe. The area on either side of Liberty, from the hospital to the Foodland, is probably best. My best friend and her roommate rent a two story house for about $500 a month. If you're willing to have a lot of roommates you can pay less than $200 a month, but if you have kids you probably don't want to do that. Laurenceville would be cheeper, but probably less safe. I don't know if there are any non-catholic schools in the area, but there are certainly lots of kids around.

There's the Waldorf school on Winebiddle, which looks like the kind of progressive learning environment I'd have killed to go to as a small child, but I imagine that sort of thing's rather expensive. If I find out that it isn't, I'll be very cross with my parents.
