NaNoWriMo is officially a bust for me.
I'm at a little over 11K and I am not going to drive myself crazy trying to get another 40K written in 5 days. I still want my DH and kids speaking to me at the end of the month. NaNo is temporary...Family less so.
Even outside of obligations and responsibilities it seems like the kids were higher maintenance this year. I just couldn't get a moment's peace to write more than 500 words at a time. Maybe if I do this next year I will make a point to take vacation days in early November and do nothing but write from 6a to 6p.
I'm disappointed in myself but I knew going in NaNo was going to be nigh to impossible to pull off. I have an unfortunate competitive streak however and there are certain people (not amongst the Toledo NaNos but elsewhere in the country) who I would LOVE to have dusted on word count. Just my literary evil twin coming out...
