Here is the working list of projects I hope to accomplish before things thaw out in the spring:
build a compost bin
get the rest of the windows for my green house.
Rake the leaves
clean up the pine needles
rip up the carpets
finish painting the house
go through boxes of paperwork in spare room
sort everything else in spare room
sort and organize craft room
take recycling appropriate places (I have a terrible habit of letting it pile up so now I have A LOT)
make a rag rug out old clothes/fabric for under dining room table
reupholster recliner
learn to crochet
make a rain barrel
Make and can applesauce
Make and can jelly
refinish the floors upstairs and in the hallway
figure out shelving/panty space (probably in the basement)
organize the kitchen cupboards and donate things we don't use
build a new book shelf
get books out of spare room and onto new book shelf (The books have been stacked in the spare room ever since the crapppy store-bought bookshelf broke in the spring. And we are talking about hundreds of books, it is not a small stack).
make a quilt and/or a duvet cover
Take down wall between kitchen and dinning room
refinish kitchen cupboard
tile kitchen/dinning room/living room floor
Some of this will require help from my husband (or another willing person who is good with carpentry), but most of it I can handle on my own.
I am sure I will be adding more things to this list and there are almost certainly some things that will not get finished but this is where I plan to start.
I need to get a paid account again so I can post picture of the house with progress updates now that we are getting serious about making some changes.
And I figure winter is the perfect time to get to work on all this. There is nothing fun to do outside, we typically don't travel much, and (except for a brief flurry around Christmas) I won't be busy with photography customers.
I am hoping to get started on at least some of the smaller things this weekend.
Wish me luck!
