He told me he was going to do it. But I didn't believe him, I mean who would?
Josh said "Julie, this Christmas I'm going to give you the Twelve Days of Christmas." I was thinking; Ok, that's great. He's going to get me a CD or something.
I was wrong. When he showed up at my doorstep on the twelfth day before Christmas with an actual partridge in his hands, I was surprised. To say the least.
"Here, Marry Christmas! This partridge is for you. I'm sorry that it's not in a pear tree but, it is the middle of winter and pear trees aren't all that common in Michigan anyway. Sooo... I hope you like him." Josh handed me the bird which was surprisingly docile in my arms.
"Um, thanks!" I was speechless. I had no idea what to say to my boyfriend. I really wasn't expecting him to bring me a bird.
"His name is Charlie." Josh reached out to pet 'Charlie' on the head.
Outside, I was shocked he actually went through with his plan (at least day one of it so far). Inside, I was dancing with joy that he loved me enough to do something so extravagant. I couldn't wait to see what else he'd bring over.
