I knew it!! How could I even DOUBT myself and the genuine goodness of people?
First, I'd like to say that OUR conversation yesterday made me feel silly and idealistic. You had made me feel that hoping for a united world for a global change is far-fetched. You made me submit to the idea that profit is the only realistic way to measure progress. As my heart and hopes slowly diminished, the pieces left over of me was going to fold under what is the "REAL WORLD."
But you're wrong!
Today, I met with my tutoree. Although she paid me MORE than I suggested and had been paying each visit, but I never check the time. Plus, we always go over time (once to 4hrs over). In fact, if she wants help- I'm there. BECAUSE i believe it isnt about the money- it's about helping others. regardless of what you have financially, if you ahve the heart, body, and mind to do it- then see it to be DONE.
Anyhoo, Lori is definitely a blessing. I loved watching her progress through Organic Chemistry and watching her "AH-HA!" moments along the way. Anyhoo, she knows I am applying to dental school this year. She asked about my personal statement. Apparently, she has a friend that is EXCELLENT at editing. Her husband also knows how to polish a paper real well. So BASICALLY, i have a TEAM of editors that are more than willing to help me out! I'm so happy. It's the exchange of service WITHOUT any currency involved- and that, truly is the BEST kind.
