Final update, I promise
A couple of story-type ideas I just wanted to store somewhere other than my head. They're liable to fall out and be lost if I leave them there. Read if interested, ignore if not.
Snarry fanfic -- JKR said that Harry would have campaigned to get Snape's portrait in the Headmaster's office. While at Hogwarts, I think Harry would have got a portrait ready and put it in his rooms there. Harry gets the opportunity to ask someone about his mother, and Severus learns that maybe, under the right circumstances, Harry not quite as vile as he thought. Not quite. I envision disgusted!Snape, as Harry sneaks Ginny into his room for a makeout session being one scene, and maybe some uber-snark, if Snape finds his way to Phineas Nigellus' portrait. Not being an official Hogwarts portrait, he's not supposed to be able to go wandering ... but this is Severus Snape we're talking about. I also think I'd like for Snape to demand some extras -- such as a large bottle of Firewhisky -- be painted into his portrait. This could be oodles of fun, and I might write it while I'm away. Or at least, get a draft down. It's been on my mind since Deathly Hallows, but I got out of touch with fandom and never wrote it.
Character idea -- A couple of kids' parents die, so they go live with their estranged, middle aged female relative (Aunt? Possibly) She has a black cat with white whiskers, and teaches at a nearby university. She is secretly a witch and has been around for a looooong time. This is all I got so far. Sigh.
