“I love you.“
He stared at the ceiling, his heart hammering in panic, his body shaking in sweat-soaked clothes.
“I hate you!“, he thought with tears in his eyes, slowly falling from his eyelashes unto his cheeks, his rigid body risen, leaning against the cold, calming wall.
A clenched fist and a headache coming, still occupied by a shy voice: „I love you.“
It had taken some time, but after getting over his prejudices he had to admit - they weren't as bad, after all.
And than THAT PERSON came up and said IT to him!
“I wish.”, he whispered hoarsely. “I wish...” and sobbed once, twice, before burying himself under the bedclothes.
'I love you, too.', wouldn't that be nice to say?
'I'm happy to be with you!' This one was true.
Damn! He loved! But not in that fucked up way all of them did! He couldn't go as far, couldn't reach the stars, they lived under, couldn't ride pink clouds up in 7th heaven, couldn't walk at the rainbow.
Couldn't... love that way.
Desperately trying to avoid those huge, questioning, worried eyes invading his mind, pinning him down.
“I hate you.”, he sobbed.
“Why? Why do you love me?”, his fingers clung into the sheet.
“Why? Who allowed you? Why me? Why me again?”
Tossing and turning, turning and tossing, tortured under the non-existent gaze.
“Why do you need to show me how many cracks I have? Why can't I love?”
He collapsed, no longer able to cry more tears, his eyes dried-out, no longer able to move in agony, in desperation, all the energy used.
“Why can't I love you? Why can't I love you, even when I want to? ...even if I'd care to?”
