and again, this is mainly for my own documentation in case i need it later on.
saw dr. r this evening. he examined my knee and said i may have hyper extended the knee when it snapped back; felt nothing serious was wrong (lets hope so). he says i probably aggravated it and need to give it time to heal.
he offered me a shot of cortisone (.1 cc if i remember hearing correctly) into the most painful area on the outside of the knee and prescribed some inflammatory meds. i'll get those filled tomorrow.
immediately after the injection, i felt relief. i don't think he treated the entire effected area, but he "hit" the main source of discomfort and i can live with that. at least for now.
said if the pain still lingered in 3 to 4 weeks (1 month) to go back and see him.
lets hope it really is just aggravated and it just needs time to heal. i was already prepared with the new orthopedic surgeon's name, address, phone number, etc. in case he did refer me to a new doc.
so again, we wait and see.
