Wait, are you saying there's something wrong with having cake for dinner? :D

And I have no idea what boiled peanuts are, but it does sound kind of yummy.

I think my Tuesday was about as interesting as yours, and my Wednesday looks to be about the same.

Best way to describe boiled peanuts is this-take some raw peanuts (don't used cooked) and boiled them. 25-35 minutes if you want them crunchy. More if you want them soft. I suggest adding something to season them. I use salt but you can use whatever you like really.

Why aren't middle of the week days more exciting? Wish they were.

Thanks! That does sound easy enough.
But... boiled peanuts > roasted peanuts? Yes or no? :D

IDK, I guess it's just a typical slump. Otherwise we wouldn't realize how much better weekends are, I guess? :D

For me boiled peanuts>roasted peanuts. But that's because I grew up with them more than roasted. However honey roasted peanuts is heaven.

Boiled peanuts are kind of amazing, especially if they are warm. In Arkansas, you can only buy them in a can, but in South Carolina people have boiled peanut stands on the side of the road during the summer. Boiled peanuts taste kind of like black eyed peas.

I meant to add this to my last response. It makes me sad that you guys have to buy them in a can. So much better when you can boil them yourself.

It is hard to find cans, which just makes it worse. They taste pretty good though, especially if you microwave them so they are nice and warm. My dad has made them a couple of times, but it is just easier to buy the cans.

I'm a fan of roadside food stands!

(LOL, I have never had black eyed peas either. They're not really all that common here, I think.)

We have weird roadside food stands in Arkansas. For a while, there was this guy selling shrimp that he drove like 20 hours to get (10 hours to the Gulf of Mexico in Texas and 10 hours back) so I never wanted to try them. Sometimes, we have some good roadside food stands for fruit (oranges and stuff) and pumpkins (Arkansas is supposed to have the best pumpkins this year).

I think that I am more sad that you haven't had black eyed peas than I am that you haven't had boiled peanuts. (I would actually be really surprised if you had tried boiled peanuts since they are only common in the Southeastern states, and a lot of my friends in Arkansas have never even heard of boiled peanuts and Arkansas is part of the Southeast). We have black eyed peas at least once a week at my house because my dad and I love them so much.
