Does anyone know how to limit BitTorrent from sending so many requests out (even when you have uploading set to 4K/Sec max) and completely clogging a half megabit upstream connection?

I'm seeing dozens of outgoing requests a second on my router.

Ideas?

I remember someone going "tsk tsk tsk" to me for saying I shouldn't torrent.

And no, I don't have any ideas. Half a megabit isn't that bad. It still leaves you with some breathing room with the connection you have. If you're having problems with it, just prioritize whatever packets you need to prioritize so it doesn't interfere with anything.

Hey stranger!

Ha, *I'M* not the one running it.

No, it does give breathing room. When I have 384k upload, it was way worse. I already did prioritze my computer far higher than the rest of the connection, which helped some, but, still left room for improvement.

Email me the links to the DD-WRT firmware that you used, would you?

Okay...

It's this one: DD-WRT v23 SP2 (09/15/06) voip

You won't regret flashing the router. :-)

It has a particular protocol included in it SIP, that I haven't used, but may in the future. You can choose another release if you so desire. They all work well, the voip one just has that extra protocol in it.
