I'm sorry I haven't posted any icons in so long! I've been busy lately, but I'm planning on doing a big icon post this week. :) In the meantime, there are some fun things going on elsewhere!
Round 6 of Iconfest just began! What is Iconfest, you ask? Basically, it's a two week period where a giant prompting post is open for anyone and everyone to go and ask for icons they'd like to have made for them. You can provide images or not, and be as specific or as vague as you'd like as well! People will come around and fill your prompts for you, and it's tons of fun! There's no limit to the amount of prompts you can make, so have at it! You don't have to make prompts to fill prompts, and you don't have to fill prompts to make them so don't be shy! :) Of course, it's a lot of fun doing both, so hopefully you will come over and join in the fun! Round 6's prompt post can be found here, so if you're still not too sure about it you can go take a look and see what it's all about. I hope to see you all there! :)
landofart is a 'land comm' created solely for graphic artists. It doesn't matter if you only make icons, or only picspams, wallpapers, whatever! There are challenges for all types of artists! The competition is made up of 4 teams; Team Gothic, Team Pop Art, Team Renaissance & Team Steampunk. These names are just for the sake of having teams and do NOT reflect the type of graphics you have to make! Plus, you can do any kind of graphics here (celebs, stock, fandom, etc) as long as it fits the challenge. JOIN TODAY!

If you've never joined a land comm before (this is my first one!) the concept is pretty simple! There are 4 teams, and each team competes against each other in various challenges over a period of several months earning points to see which team will be #1. Some land comms are focused on fandoms, but this one is just a general graphic arts land comm. The challenges are all pretty creative and entertaining- and surprisingly enough, a bunch of them have nothing to do with making graphics at all! (Like internet scavenger hunts, bingo, jigsaw puzzles or gifspam parties.) If you're worried about not being skilled enough to join, don't be! There's no pressure to be a super talented graphic artist (which I was worried about) and it's pretty laid back. You don't have to enter all of the challenges either, so you can sign up anytime and jump on in! If you're considering joining, I'm on Team Renaissance, and I'd love it if you'd mention my name when you sign up. :)
