Okay, so a few lil things that haven't made it into my earlier posts:
The other day I seemed to be going through an alliterative and potentially oxymoronic stage. My phrases of the day included "creepy cool" and "funny freaky", and yes, I did actually use both of those in actual conversations. "Creepy cool" was used twice in a few hours, describing two totally different things, even! *blinks* (In my defense, stop-motion photography is pretty cool in a semi-creepy way, depending on the subject matter ;P)
We've been taking Vincent to chiro, and he *loves* seeing Dr. Sharon (the chiropractor). He's always incredibly happy and alert when he gets adjusted, and he's been holding his head up so much better since the first adjustment - yay for appropriate chiropractics! (I know there are definitely more than one school of thought when it comes to infants and chiropractic care, and all I can say is that you have to do what you feel is best for the child concerned. Vince was involved in a very difficult birth, and his neck was showing visible signs of subluxation due to the trauma - the amount of visible improvement since we started was almost immediate and has continued, so we're thrilled. Vince is happy, his neck is stronger and straighter - those are the key things!) It helps that Dr. Sharon has taken a child specialism, and she's amazing with kids of all ages. Seeing as I started as a highly reluctant taker of chiro myself, I give her a ringing endorsement =D
I tried to be all proactive in getting my tax forms in to the accountant earlier this year. Usually we get it into her for the end of March/beginning of April, right before the deadline. Then she gets swamped, and ... well I was hoping to avoid that this year. Apparently not so likely. I have my T4 from the gov't for when I was on EI, and from Manpower for the vacation pay I technically received in 2009, and my credit form from the church ... but when I went to the Queen's website to grab my tuition and books credit forms, nada. The forms say I didn't take any courses in 2009. *blinks* So I went to check on my marks (basically an online transcript) and sure enough, there the three courses were ... but nowt in the tax forms. Hmmmm. So I checked on the CTE website, where the note assures me that the forms will be avail by the end of Feb. Aha! I knew there was a reason why I always had to wait until March ;) *whew* While I was there, I remembered that I can claim my OCT membership ... if I can find the receipt. Erm ... whoops? Hmmmm. I know where 2010 is, but 2009? (Before I get lambasted, please remember that I moved shortly after paying said fee, so the receipt could be ... well ... anywhere I had deemed "safe" at the time ... sigh.) Then again, I also recalled that I technically worked for the UGDSB for a few weeks in May/June, so I can't do anything until I get a T4 from them as well. Righto ... so no more worrying about taxes for another week, anyway!
Note to self: 'tis very well and good to feel somewhat accomplished about *finding* potential jobs in the adverts, but if you don't actually get the applications IN on time, nowt will come of it. *kicks self in arse*
There's a couple movies in the cinema that I'd really like to see out right now ... Mom says she'll go see Percy Jackson with me, but I don't have anyone to see Wolfman with, and I don't tend to enjoy going to the cinema by myself. At least not here - I used to do it in Durham all the time, but that was a different setup. I'd also like to see Valentine's Day, but it'll be a renter - or to be more precise, a 'wait til it premieres on TMN' movie ;P
Ooh, so this morning I woke up with this really clear image of a fic in mind ... but by the time I'd actually woken up enough to stumble across the room to the pen and paper, all I had left was a title and a scene. Sigh. It was a Sanctuary plotbunny, and the title: A Decision Made & Consequences Paid. Sounds like it has potential, right? Hmmm .... now if only I could remember the rest of the dang plotline besides the snippet that I've still got! (Helen and a slightly younger Ash, having a heart-to-heart about all decisions having consequences, some foreseeable, and others only visible in hindsight ...) Although, now that I've just written that wee synopsis down, it's sounding rather heavy again. Gah. I seriously need to write some dang fluff!!! Drabbling has been mentioned recently, but the prob with drabbles is that I find myself getting hung up on the word count instead of just running with the mini-scene. Hmmm ... maybe another round of the vignettes? Those seemed to work fairly well for me in the past .... *contemplates*
As for project ROAR (reorganisation of amy's room), I've come to a bit of a standstill. I do have good plans for this afternoon though -- I want to get those clothes destined for the Recovery Room (local charity which benefits the hospital) to their destination, so I can put books and whatnot on the bookshelves (I know, what a concept, eh? LOL) ... which'll open up space under my bed for the cool new wheely box that my Grandpa gave me to get filled with stuff and put under said bed :P Also on the plan (though realistically not for today) is to renest all the suitcases and do another sort through the remaining clothing, as I have way more clothing currently in here than I need. As much as I want to keep items for when I get back down to that size again, this is obviously going to take much longer than previously hoped, and frankly, they'd do someone else more good than they currently are me.
*dredges brain*
I think that's about all the bits'n'bobs I've got floating about for a bit ... oooh - went to drop off my library books yesterday and the library was having one of their book sales! Joy! (I know, I need more paperbacks about as much as a new hole in my head, but ... BOOKS!!!!) Hehehe... *bounces* Speaking of holes in my head, I asked about getting my upper ears pierced, but it's more expensive than I thought, so has fallen back on the priority list. I definitely still want my new tattoos, but continue to search for the right font for the swirly one ... or for the baby block one, to be fair ;) That and the required fundage, of course. Hmmmm .... I'll keep y'all up to date on those projects as well.
Righto, well, enough with the 'quickie' ... time to get a move on with the ROAR! *waves*
