FRICK!

FRICKETY FRICK FRICK!

DAMMIT MOTHEREFFER!

Okay, let us flash back a la Lost.

So about two weeks ago the stove broke. Just stopped working. No heat, no light indicating it was even on. So Josh and I had to set out to find a new one, since the place came unfurnished and the landlord wasn't responsible for it, since it was just left here by the last tenants. Fine, understandable. It sucked but I was reassured because we'd be able to take it with us when we move. So we shopped around like responsible grown ups, getting prices all over the place. Finally settled on one from home Depot because they were having a sale. (SALES FTW)

It was delivered today. Gave us a window of 8 am to noon. So my dumb ass didn't go to bed last night until like 1:30, and then I had to wake up at 7:15 to straighten up a bit and clear a path around the back to the kitchen, because the new stove wouldn't fit through the doorway from the dining room to kitchen. (It's an old ass farmhouse, and all the doorways are tiiiiiny.)

The guys showed up at like 8:30, sweetness. Went around the other side of the house, which I hadn't anticipated, so they had a hell of a time getting it inside, but eventually made it. Did their thing setting it up but....no power. Apparently something is wrong with the fuse or the breaker or whatever. (I am that pathetic girl that doesn't know if there's a difference or what it is.) Thing is, I am not so pathetic that I couldn't figure out circuit breakers. Or, at least new circuit breakers, you know, the nice little light-switchy things? Well, to give you an idea of how effing old this place is, it doesn't have those. They're like these round weird things that I've been told they stopped using in the 70s so....yeah. I didn't even know what I was looking at. Neither did the installation guy. So they had to write on the paperwork that they couldn't test it because of a circuit problem.

(Josh was at work all this time, so I didn't even have the benefit of him looking at it.)

So there's a shiny new lovely stove in my kitchen that I can't use. Landlord is actually an electrician, so he'll come out and look at it either tonight or tomorrow but still...fucking irritating. I have gone two weeks without a stove (living on microwavable food took me back to my dorm days and it was not pleasant.) I was so excited about being able to cook dinner tonight.

Mother effer.

So, that's where that is. Drug myself out of bed just to be let down. And the delivery guys were totally not nice at all.

I want a drinky drink.

bad day, rant
