So last night at work, I'm doing my thing, making people coffee, when a guy gets into my line who looks really familiar. I go about taking his order, trying all the while to place him, when finally it hits me. I think to myself, "OMG he looks just like Geof from Ace of Cakes!" (I love that show, and all of Food Network, really.) So I finish his transaction thinking to myself no way it's actually him. I ask for a name to call when his soy chai is ready and what name does he give? "Geof." NO FREAKING WAY.
So that happened. DJ was there and we both watch the show, and we just sort of gave each other this knowing look like "okay, don't freak out and be a spaz but...yeah, that's Geof from Ace of Cakes." In Borders. In Reading, PA of all places. And I made his soy chai and DJ got his cup of coffee. And then DJ went home and about wet herself with excitement telling everyone in the break room about it.
After he left we both just grinned and said, "OMG we just served a mini-celebrity! How cool!" It was awesome.
I live in a really small town so this was really exciting. Then all I could think was, "wtf was he doing here?" "Where's Mary Alice?"
Yep. I'm a huge nerd.
But it was so cool.
