Because I finally got into writing my reel_glee fic (I swear to god, it's like it hates me or something) and now I have to go to bed, I am stealing this meme from pretty much every Glee person on my flist:
Give me a word and a pairing/character and I will give you at least one line of fic. I don't promise it will be a full story, but it could

“Nah, it’s cool here,” he says and Puck gives him a sullen look but turns the ignition back on and drives into town.
They throw their bags in a dingy motel room just like all the others they’ve stayed in- one bed, crappy TV, toilet that doesn’t flush properly. It’s become as much a part of the road trip as the rattle in the truck that Puck insists is there on purpose, a percussion effect to help Finn keep time when he randomly bursts into song, or burgers made from unidentifiable meat that somehow manage not to make them as ill or as dead as Finn expects every time they eat one.
They go out to a bar but Puck doesn’t drink much. Finn’s worried he’s pissed Puck off, but Puck still laughs and jokes and hits on the waitress when she brings them spicy wings to eat while watching a football game on the big TV in the corner.
Puck claims he’s tired and they head back to the motel before midnight, flicking through channels before bed.
“We’re going to have to go home soon,” Finn says when they’re both lying in the darkness, and there’s a long enough pause that he thinks Puck’s asleep already. Then,
“I know,” Puck replies, voice muffled by the pillow. “Tomorrow. We’ll have to start back. I have it planned out I guess- Amarillo, Wichita, St. Louis then home.”
Finn sighs and nods and wishes they didn’t have to go back. Sure, he misses home and his mom and his family and friends but there’s something freeing about this road trip with Puck that he doesn’t want to lose.
Finn falls asleep, dreaming about four more days, three more nights with Puck.
He wakes up early, enough light streaming in through the window to let him know it’s morning. It takes him a moment to realise that it’s not the sunlight that woke him. Puck’s body is pressed behind his, as it has been every morning of the trip, arm slung over Finn’s waist.
Finn’s shirt has ridden up and Puck’s hand is pressed to Finn’s bare skin, but it’s the movement that wakes Finn up fully. He goes very still as Puck’s hand slides down, pausing at the top of Finn’s boxers before sliding an inch or so beneath the waistband.
Finn sucks in a breath and holds it, not wanting to move. He gives himself a moment to pretend he’s scared, that he doesn’t want this, but he’s never been good at lying, not even to himself.
“Puck?” Finn whispers.
Silence answers him but Puck’s hand slips lower, fingertips brushing against him.
Finn scrunches up his eyes, willing himself not to get a boner because there’s something not so awesome about getting a handjob from his sleeping best friend. Finn’s thought of this before, more times than he’ll ever admit, but Puck is awake and willing in every single one of them.
“You’ve gotten over your one touch, one shot problem,” Puck remarks in Finn’s ear, making Finn jump.
He can’t help the surprised yelp he makes, and he knows Puck’s going to ream him about it later, but the movement pushes Puck’s hand further down towards his dick and that’s distracting enough that Finn doesn’t care he’s going to be teased for hours.
Puck pulls back and Finn feels a stab of disappointment until he realises Puck’s only doing it so that Finn ends up on his back, Puck lying beside him.
“Normally the Puckster gets a better reaction that this,” Puck points out and Finn lets out his breath and stops his no-boner chant in his mind.
Puck smirks. “That’s more like it,” he says, wrapping his fingers around Finn and making him gasp.

“Don’t tell me you didn’t get any play in high school. You know what I’m doing.”
Finn’s brain and dick tell him to let it drop, to not look a gift horse in the mouth, but he can’t help but ask, “Why?”
Puck sighs, stopping moving his hand. He grips Finn a little tighter though, as if trying to make sure he keeps Finn’s attention.
“Why not?” he asks back. “Don’t...don’t pick at this. Just go with it. Okay?”
Finn thinks there’s a hidden pleading ‘please’ in there somewhere. He wonders if maybe this is why Puck wanted to come to this McKinley, to do what they could never admit they wanted back there. Finn’s pretty sure it was an accident, finding this place, but Puck’s always been the sort of guy to use whatever’s at hand to his advantage.
And Finn isn’t going to complain. He’s wanted this, and more, for a long time and maybe he wasn’t the only one, all this time. Finn doesn’t know what’s going to happen when they get home, whether this means anything or nothing at all and whether he’d even want it to mean more than whatever’s about to happen, but the trip home is going to take four days and more importantly three nights. It’s enough time to figure at least some things out, without worrying about them in the moment.
All he knows right now is that Puck seems to want this as much as Finn does, which is better than Finn ever expected. And he’s willing to take what he can get. At the very least, he’s glad to have Puck to himself for just a bit more.
“Now are you gonna shut up and let me do my thing?” Puck asks, smiling cockily down at him. He has that same self assured smirk, the same quirked eyebrow that Finn’s known his whole life.
“Okay,” Finn says, and smiles back.

I hope your 4 1/2 hour drive goes well and you have a good day! (and lol, now I know you're in that sort of part of the country we can laugh together about my ridiculous route that probably isn't feasible, that I made the boys take all courtesy of google maps and in one case accidentally zooming in to the wrong area which lead to me finding that McKinley county place)
:D

The drive went okay (back and forth in one day...ugh!). I think it's great that St. Louis is one of the stops on their trips because that's actually where I'm from. And while I don't know how long it takes to get everywhere on your trip agenda, I do know that you can get from Wichita to St. Louis in 7 hours so it's definitely doable!
Some things in particular that I loved:
1) That despite it all, they still go on the road trip and that Finn has packed a bag just in case.
2) Sharing beds!
3) Just the visualization of them in that truck driving down the highway
4) Puck is a secret cuddlers!
5) Puck wants to put Finn back on the mothership to his home planet
6) Finn angsting about going back
7) Puck getting all bent out of shape about McKinley County and then Finn is worried he pissed him off
8) They're going home through St. Louis!!!
9) That FInn has thought about being with Puck before and he's wanted this and more
10) That Puck obviously has thought of this too
So awesome. I can't believe you cranked it out so fast. I could have read a novel just on the two of them road-tripping. Just lovely.

Thank you so much for this comment! It's so lovely! I'm basically just really pleased you liked it because it did run away on me there and I was a bit worried about it. Boys secretly in love with each other and making silly grand gestures to prove it is one of my favourite things I think, so I couldn't resist in this!
Anyway, thank you. Your comment made me grin really big!

The only thing I know about Wichita is that my parent's lived there briefly before I was born when my dad was in the service.
I did like this so very much. And I'm never one to complain about things going on because that's just more for me to enjoy. I've noticed this running theme through some of their stories and since it's one that I particularly enjoy (especially since you keep them so IC), I full support it! The sheer potential of those 3 more nights before they get home makes me giddy :)

That's really cool about your Wichita connection! It's like I read your mind before plotting Puck and Finn's trip!
Hehe, I definitely have a handful of favourite tropes (it's like I have a soft spot for bromances, so in most fandoms I've passed through, that's what I write)! Hopefully it doesn't get too repetitive. I'm glad you think I keep them in character though!
I think it's safe to say the following three nights of the road trip (and possibly many others after) boning. A lot. A lot a lot. :D

I think you do read my mind because you certainly know what I like!
Nope, none of the stories are repetitive. I think there's a lot of stories to tell there so I'm all for it! The only problem I have is that you've made them insatiable for them :)
Heh, I'm sorry we don't get to experience the boning...because I have a feeling it'd be awesome!

St Louis is definitely on my list of Midwest destinations. I'd really like to drive around the US and Chicago is a must stop, as are so many places in the Midwest. I don't know what it is that fascinates me so much about that area, although I suspect it's because you don't hear so much about those places in the media outside of the US. It's always California or Nevada or Texas or Florida or Washington or New York. If I ever make it out of there (right now I just need that Lottery win! Hehe) I will definitely hit you up for a list of must-do things!
As for Finn and Puck- if I wrote all of their tales (like how they somehow get lost and end up almost in Minnesota, and how Finn accidentally locks himself in a gas stop rest room and has to climb out of the tiny window to freedom) it'd go on forever and ever and eventually grow tedious! But as for the boning, well, just imagine it to be awkward and fumbly and neither of them will really say what they want but also neither of them will want it to end when they get back to Lima. :) I hope that makes up a little for me failing at writing more for you!

lol..the idea of Finn having to crawl out the window in the gas station bathroom is hilarious! I so could see it. I personally don't think any of it would be tedious at all since your Puck and Finn in any situation is pretty much golden, but seeing as I bug you to continue most everything, I'll be happy with just that visualization! :)
