How people were creating sockpuppets to vote Patrick off?
Here, if you want to vote, and you all should, but if Patrick goes I will cry I don't think people should get upset about it. Cos I'm pretty sure it was all a big misunderstanding. Trufax. So trufax I'm not even going to cut it.

Round Nine
i cnt bliev ppl thnk ur sexyr thn patrick
Pete hit send then set his phone aside and logged back into LJ as ‘trickizsexy’. He hovered the pointer over Patrick’s name, tracing the letters, then clicked the little circle and voted for Patrick for the 34th time. It had taken a long time, thinking up lj names, and it was a little bit scary how many 'peterickluvr’ and ‘tradebbblues’ and ‘want2cthem2gethr’s there were out there. And then there’d been the logging on to vote, followed by the obligatory wanky comments in icecreamheadaches and frb_trash and patd. And then the reading of some awesomely bad Ryan/Brendon fic and the leaving of over the top feedback (Pete thought comments like ‘just beautiful’ were severely lacking in misspelling and exclamation points and smilies and assertions that it was the Best. Fic. Ever.).
He’d been doing this for hours, and as he’d been constantly reminded throughout the day, they were due in an interview in ten minutes, so he left himself logged in as ‘trickizsexy’ and took a look at the poll results. He was convinced that 34 votes had to have Patrick way in the lead, especially since he had faith in their fans to recognise how hot Patrick was.
Sure enough, Patrick was in the lead. Pete grinned smugly then scrolled down to read the comments. Someone called ‘joncer_ftw’ seemed to be somewhat confused, judging by their comment: “omgz how can u guys be voting for jwalk? he is so so so sexier than patrick! are u blind?”
Pete laughed, thinking that they were wrong in so many ways, then read the next comment, and the next, frowning slightly as he got to one that said “STOP VOTING FOR PATRICK. I DON’T WANT HIM TO BE VOTED OFF.”
Pete’s stomach flipflopped, and he scrolled back up, re-reading the text above the actual poll:
Vote for the LEAST sexy
“Fuck,” Pete said, panicking a little. He stared at the screen for a long time, then before he could figure out some way to change his vote or create 50 new sockpuppets to vote for VickyT or Jwalk instead, Patrick appeared at the door.
”Just a minute,” Pete said, hastily clicking away from LJ. He suspected Patrick would be both embarrassed and annoyed about Pete spending his day voting for him in some online fan poll, and it probably wasn’t very flattering either, to think that most of your votes were from your best friend.
“Fuck,” Pete said again, slamming the laptop shut and vowing to get back to the poll as soon as the interview was over. It wouldn’t be long until the poll closed and he wanted to ensure his stupidity wouldn’t end in Patrick being unjustly booted from the poll.
But of course one thing led to another and the interview became a drawn out photoshoot and followed by a meeting and other social engagements Pete couldn’t remember agreeing to but having to go to anyway. When he finally got home he looked vaguely towards his computer, but he was unusually exhausted and he could only hope, as his head hit the pillow that he’d have enough time to fix things when he awoke, or, if not, that Patrick wouldn’t find out it was all Pete’s fault.

Round Ten
sry jwalk. it had 2 b dun. ur out. u just rnt hot enuf 4 me
Pete was beaming. He kind of loved the mods at the community. They were clever folk, and they’d realised that 34 recently formed LJs was somewhat suspicious and had discounted his votes. Which made Pete very, very happy, as it meant Patrick was still in the poll. Crisis averted, and if people thinking that someone was being mean and horrible towards Patrick by trying to get him voted out unfairly got more people voting to keep Patrick in, then it was just a lovely added bonus.
Of course, the mods checking for new sockpuppets was going to affect Pete’s plan of making sure Patrick won. Not that he didn’t have utmost faith in Patrick’s obvious superiority to Jon and Frank, and in the fans being able to recognise this, but Pete suspected Mikey was getting all of his gamer friends to vote for everyone but Frank.
Pete had three LJs that he used for leaving random comments and stirring up wank on comms. But three was not enough to get Jon voted out. He needed help.
Pete sat and thought for a long while. He had friends with LJs, but not secret ones, and he doubted Nick or Korean Tom Cruise would want to deal with the fallout when the fans inevitably recognised their lj names. What he needed was someone who already had a dozen or so anonymous sock puppets that had been active for a long time and were cleverly disguised as reading journals.
Pete picked up his phone. What he needed was Gabe.
