After the disappointing lack of snow Monday night I didn't want to get my hopes up, but this storm pulled through and has given me a long weekend! This makes me especially happy since I have a new set of lessons to prepare for and a bulletin board to finish.
I had my final observation yesterday. It was my first surprise observation, but fortunately it went well (despite the fact that I was so busy talking to the person who came to observe me that I forgot to do room set up).
I've been having fun doing horn and trumpet demonstrations for the 2nd and 3rd graders. I buzz Yankee Doodle and play the Star Wars theme...they must like it cause some of the classes yesterday already knew what I was going to play.
This past week I also went back to the middle school for the 7th and 8th grade band concert. The kids thought it was great that I was playing with them for the concert and it was nice that I got to see them and hear how much they've improved. Unfortunately my coop forgot to acknowledge me so it looked like I was either a ringer or someone who failed 8 times.
Overall student teaching has been fun but I'm just about ready for a break...which I suppose is good because Saturday (12/17) is the beginning of winter break.
