Moved!
We've finally moved. Technically we moved on June 28th, but things have been insane and our internet is...less than stellar (long story, but they're coming to check the wiring on friday).
The move went pretty well overall. When you don't take into account the Budget truck guy that tried to screw us over (I called customer service about it...we were supposed to have the truck til 7:30pm - he said we'd have to have it back by 3pm because he had a shortage...we ended up getting it til 8:18pm - long story short) or the fact that there was a torrential downpour in the late afternoon which soaked/destroyed tons of boxes (and a few things) - still need to check my guitar amp, as that got wet too. :(
Two guys from work came to help, as did my MOH, BM & her husband, my mom, bro, dad, and grandpa. We certainly didn't lack food or drink at least - can't say that people that come to help me starve at least. We had a pretty good time, I think.
Why this Apartment is SOOO Much better than the previous one:
1. Washer & Dryer in the apartment - need I say more?
2. An actual view that doesn't involve a parking lot, but does (at times) involve bunnies
3. More living space
4. 2 bathrooms
5. Much easier to cool (and I assume heat) - partially due to much better insulation
6. 2nd floor as opposed to 6th floor
7. NO ELEVATORS!!!!!!!!!!
8. NO ELEVATORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (yes I know I just said that)
9. Maintenance actually comes within 24 hours when you need them (nothing too major yet, but a couple things)
10. Time Warner Cable > Directv
11. Bigger kitchen
12. No problems getting into the garage
So at this point we have all the rooms pretty much set up, but no decor on the walls and still some boxes to unpack (some of which are more for storage, but we need to put everything else away so we know where to put the storage stuff).
If anybody needs the new address, let me know. :)
