Jackets can clinch a p-word spot as soon as tomorrow with a win in NSH tonight (CBJ will win the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Prednecks if they both finish with 90 points & identical records), and then a win tomorrow plus a MIN regulation or OT loss at Detroit, OR a win tonight plus OT loss and MIN regulation loss tomorrow. If that sounds complicated, basically it means win tonight and gain a point on the Wild tomorrow.
Yeah, it depends on another game, plus winning on Sunday afternoon after a Saturday night road game is a tall order, but I'm glad this scenario is possible with five games to go instead of two.
They're at home tomorrow against Chicago, so go out and witness possible history if you can. And you might have time to take a shower beforehand, after committing the unnatural act of rooting for the Red Things in their game, nationally televised on NBC at 12:30.
