the Southwest hill climb

One of Saint Louis City's most notorious cycling climbs.

(Photos complements of King shit of fuck mountain.)

Often the last climb on the way home, it's an ass-kicker... especially when you're as out of shape as I am. It put me to shame the other day, at the end of my 34 miler, so I went out to work on it yesterday morning. I rode it three times, each time shifting and committing to a harder gear ratio. It was horribly exhilirating and I felt great enough when I got home to do some pushups and some side-crunches. So horray! I think I might be getting back into the swing of things.

I also mega cleaned the rest of my apartment, including the bathroom. And, I made these nice arrangements of roses in three of my POM glasses. My place is rockin' with style. What is with me these days? I'm such a homebody... a nester. And, what is with all of the tons of thick gray dust that settles so quickly over everything in my place? I've NEVER lived anywhere as dusty as Saint Louis... it's disgusting and really hard to keep up with.

Dan and I hung out after my cleaning party. Smoked and sat on my balcony, riding through a monster thunderstorm. We got wet and didn't care, it was awesome.

Awesome, I tell you.
