So this is what I was doing all day yesterday:

Bufu, missouri. it was a lead mine/quarry way back when.... when it closed down they flooded it up to about fifty feet from the top, leaving all the old mine equipment sunk 70 feet down. you can dive there, in the big open pit area as well as in the caves to check out all the old stuff. the pit area is funny, though... it's basically a hoosier's paradise, with beer cans absolutely EVERYWHERE and completely coating the lake bottom in all of the shallow areas, tons of underage pos kids chugging natty lite, motorcycles and atv's and, well, it's pretty much a completely unregulated free-for-all. you can rock climb up all the faces, too... and if you fall it's usually okay cause there's usually nothing but water below you. i successfully climbed two faces, but failed four times on another (although on that one I had an audience full of hott townie girls who kept whispering to each other about how ripped they thought me to be *beems*).

btw, the pic is from their website, it's not me... although I did that jump twice. that one is fun cause you have to climb up that totem thingy and perch on the top and then launch yourself into the water between a shallow spot and a really weedy spot. anyway, someone took a pic of me jumping from a higher one, but I haven't yet seen it.

it was incredible, overall. but damn, you should see the bruises. apparently I look like i've been to a fight club meeting.

meh, being able to say "yeah, these bruises are from jumping off a huge stone spire into water 30 feet below" is pretty sweet. unregulated places are nonexistent in houston suburbs unfortunately, so i'm outta luck. nice to see you're havin' fun though. take it easy.
