Fireworks at Grant Park

Saturday was the most magical night of my life. It started out kind of rainy and remained so for most of the day. I had plans to take Metz and my little sister to the taste and we decided that we still wanted to go even if it meant getting some what wet. I also really, really wanted to go to the fireworks and was hoping that they would still go on despite the weather. My sister and her husband met up with us around 8:45 and we waited together in hopes of a great show. We lucked out. The fireworks went off as planned. They were beautiful, even if they were against a grey clouded sky and not a blue star studded one. We all stood together ohhhing and awwwing when Metz asked me if he could keep me. This is nothing new considering he has asked that before. Mesmerized by the flashing pretty colors I softly said "of course, honey." Then he said "Now the question is will you keep me?" Again, this was nothing new. He has asked me this before. Still watching the sky I said, "of course, honey." But by this time his hands had moved to just under my chin and he was holding something. I couldn't quite see it because my chin was in the way so I pulled his hands up. He was holding a beautiful Sapphire ring. I look at it and then at him too stunned to figure out what's going on when I hear him ask "Will you marry me?" The fireworks in the sky are going full force. It wasn't quite the finale although I think that's what he was shooting for. It doesn't really matter now. I can't remember much after he asked me. I started to shake my head up and down and grabbed the ring to put on my own finger. I guess I really couldn't wait for him to do it. He got me the exact ring I wanted. A beautiful Sapphire in the shape of a piece of the triforce from Zelda set in silver. I gladly accepted. I've known for a while now that he was the one. It couldn't have been any more perfect.
