The first tulip opened! Squee!!!!
I have no idea what kind of tulip it is, but it's very bright and pretty. When I left this morning (about 8ish) to take Cody to the groomer and the bank and Walgreens, the bud was just starting to loosen up. I get home about an hour later, it's fully open.
This is in front of our house. There are so many buds now! I am so excited about these tulips that it's kind of sad, lol.
My dad has also decided to hand over another part of the yard to me. Yay! I haven't measured it, but's probably about 6x6 and almost square. It's full sun so the tomatoes are definitely going there, but I need to figure out what else I'm going to plant. I had a brief moment of insanity when I thought about putting in a veg patch, but it passed quickly. I'm much more of a "plant it and leave it" gardener then a "plant it and baby it" gardener.
I spent the morning out in the yard, cleaning out the front garden, marking the placements of some itty-bitty flowers that I'm going to move once they finish blooming, and planting seeds in my old tomato pot. Now I just have to finish my laundry, clean out and organize my trunk, and record all the comics I picked up yesterday and I'll be done for the day and can veg out and read more of my book.
