Elvira has been Obliviated!
My poor little laptop is now in the (hopefully) uber-skilled hands of the Geek Squad at Best Buy.
I turned her on this afternoon and got this strange message about how Windows could not load user settings, blah blah blah, technical jargon, blah blah, etc, and then it loads up with all the default factory settings.
Um, what?
Shut down, turn her back on.
Same message. Also, everything I'd put into her was gone. Bookmarks, music, programs, documents, GONE.
Cue small panic attack.
After that, I loaded her up and headed for the Best Buy. I told the guy there what was happening, he switched her on, read the message and said, "Wow, that's a weird one."
*facepalm* Of course it is. This is me. When I do something wrong I go all out.
So now they're keeping my baby for a few days to run a diagnostic on her and hopefully find out what the Hell happened. And hopefully it won't cost too much.
Until I get her back, I'm back to sharing the desktop PC with my dad.
No, I don't forsee any problems or arguments at all.
