*SQUEEEEE!!*

Two and a half hours, no opening act. Two and a half hours of just Prince.

It. Was. Fabulous.

Some of the highlights:

The horn section tearing into Beyonce's Crazy In Love and Prince trying to do a booty dance, then telling us all to not make him do that, because he doesn't have a booty, and somebody, please, lend him some booty! His (rather heavy-set) keyboardist (I think he was a keyboardist; I'm not really sure what he did) went over to where Prince was and started shaking his thing. Everybody went nuts.

Prince going below stage with most of the band, leaving the pianist/keyboardist (not the heavy-set guy) on stage. This guy was really good. Of course, otherwise he wouldn't be with Prince, lol. He played really soft, kind of mellow and relaxing music for a bit. Then one of the sax players came out and the two of them did a really beautiful rendition of Wonderful World.

Little Red Corvette. Prince (alone on stage), an acoustic guitar, and all of us singing along. It was great. Then he did about four or five more songs like that. It was a nice break in the show, and cool to hear some of his songs perfomed in a completely new way.

The only thing I didn't like was the five minute wait for the encore. I thought that was a little excessive, but, like my mom said when I told her about it, maybe he had to use the bathroom. lol. When he did come back out though, he played three more songs. I didn't recognize the first one, but then he played Nothing Compares 2 U, and closed with Purple Rain.

Easily one of the best concerts I've been to. Loved every minute of it.

Of course, then it took me close to an hour to get out of the parking lot. Grr. Never going to see a concert at the Allstate Arena again. Hockey is fine. Concerts, no. There are only four lanes out of the parking lot - two on each side. It was a nightmare.

Oh! I realized as I was getting ready last night that I don't actually own any Prince. This must be rectified.

concerts, cd's, prince
