Alright, my dessert is definitely Psych. That show can put me in a good mood NO MATTER how crappy I feel. James Roday and Dule Hill have amazing chemistry on screen, their timing is infallable and everything is actually realistic. It's a formulaic show that doesn't feel formulaic, and thus, will keep my attention for as long as it is on.
My pasta dish would likely be Leverage. I do not know what it is about this show, it is improbable, the seasons are short, and sometimes the script is downright campy, but I keep sticking with it. I think because they do the job, and then they have the reveal. I think I like that a lot, leaving you to figure out how it is done without spoiling the ending. Plus, you know, you have all the major players - the geek, the beauty, the quirky child-like character, the good-looking bad boy, and the brain. Plus they play well off of each other, great chemistry among the cast.
My meat and potatoes (though really, it's more like my sushi and sashimi plate, but that's just semantics) would be NCIS. I am absolutely enamored with how they breathed life back into the show when they were on a downhill. They didn't go the House route and make cheesy lines and assumptions and a scandalous affair take place - instead, they pushed the envelope, pushed the issues in today's world and took advantage where that could take them. They're on their seventh season and SO strong. The concentration is more on the team and how they work together as opposed to letting an outside source (the weekly patient, or in this case, the weekly case) support the show. ETA: And they don't always win! There are some failed cases and failed missions, people die and bad things happen, it isn't always happy happy, lala land. Yes, it is formulaic, and yes each episode is about solving a crime, but they have such a healthy rapport built between each character that translates beautifully in each scene. And you can tell each actor really enjoy their characters, are so entrenched in them. The entire show has been brilliantly scripted and so fresh each season, it really can stand on it's own for however much longer they chose to air it. The arcs are wonderfully formed and tied up nicely, it isn't often I have questions, they don't leave loose ends to flap in the breeze.

I could go on, unfortunately. :-x
