Janet Robin is not just another female singer/
songwriter with a guitar. From her performances, one
gets the sense that she and the guitar are one.
Countless reviews have been written to attest to her
playing abilities. Janets musical roots are grounded
by her mentors: Ann & Nancy Wilson (Heart) and Lindsey
Buckingham (Fleetwood Mac). It all began with Janet
listening to her older brother perform. This inspired
her to pick up the guitar at the early age of six and
study under the guitar teacher around the corner from
her home, Randy Rhoads (Ozzy Osborne).

Saturday, May 6th, 8pm- Rachael Davis- $10
In September of 2001, Rachael moved from Michigan to
Boston and within the span of seven months was awarded
a Boston Music Award for Best New Singer-Songwriter.
In 2002, Rachael contributed "Lonely When You're Gone"
to the Respond II compilation, which also includes
such luminaries as Joan Baez, Dolly Parton, Ani
DiFranco, and Eryka Badu. Her influences range from
the jazz stylings of Ella Fitzgerald to the soulful
pop vocals of Patty Griffin -- with many more in
between. She is a contemporary songwriter but is
equally at home singing anything from traditional
ballads to Cole Porter to Joe Henry. In April, 2001,
she released her debut CD, Minor League Deities, a
collection of original songs featuring performances by
many of the people whose musical and personal paths
she has crossed throughout her life, including Claudia
Schmidt.

Peter Mulvey's new album, The Knuckleball Suite
(Signature Sounds) is a collection of thirteen new
songs that aptly display why he has, over the length
of his extensive career (this is his ninth solo

Waits, Leonard Cohen, Randy Newman, and others.
Collaborating once again with longtime writing partner
and producer David "Goody" Goodrich, the album is
vibrant, surprising, and in many ways, like a notch
falling perfectly into a groove for a musician with a
history as rich and diverse as Mulvey's.
