countdown to Michigan

Nov 17, 2010 06:53

Upon my return to work on Monday, I received a beautiful arrangement of flowers (roses, peonies) from L.  The occasion was mainly because of my aunt's death, but the card said, simply, "Can't wait to see you."  It certainly surprised me and lifted my mood.  And wow.  What a nice man.  I think he was raised right...

Nine more days until my visit to his farm in Michigan.  And then, exactly a week after I leave, he'll be in NYC with me for a week (working on some robots for a show).  I think goofy things about all of this, like: Awww, the next time I wear these socks I'll be with L.  Or: Yay, L will be eating this trail mix with me next month.  Told you it was goofy.

I send him Pablo Neruda poems because mine just aren't there yet.  My journal, as of late, is full of ecstatic words.  I think of buffalo sunsets and ginkgo trees.  A farmhouse, a fireplace.  My hands in his hair.

Nine more days.
