South Park made me gay (ok, not really)

Mar 13, 2010 11:31

Dudes make it so easy to put them in the friend zone when they tie a South Park episode into every conversation. Are you fucking kidding me? That is just... feckless. My friend's a cool, nerdy guy with some things going for him, but maturity is not one of them. What the hell is it about South Park and this generation of man-boys???

To wit, I've taken three THREE! different guys to the Met, only to have each one relate South Park to a piece of art. Really?! You're serious? Why don't you just drop your pants and take a shit in the Egyptian wing? Yes, right here on the steps of the Temple of Dendur. Because when you talk about South Park--without a hint of irony--and try to contextualize it as something culturally relevant within the the walls of America's premiere art collection, you are, essentially, shitting in my temple. This dude-centric meme has GOT to go. It's pathetic.

If ever a single topic of conversation could turn me gay, it's this one. I am not exaggerating. On a grand scale, idiocy like this made it hard to travel outside the country during the Bush years. But rather than the good old days of disavowing my country, I'm inclined to disavow the embarrassing half of my species. Fucking grow up, guys. YOU'RE supposed to be the dominate paradigm? YOU rule the world? YOUR pay scale is somehow, justifiably higher than mine? Kill me.
