flesh camp

I don't know what you did with YOUR weekend, but I spent it at the New York City (5 Annual) Burlesque Festival. morgan78 joined me on Friday night, Silvia (friend from Pratt) and I tackled the big show on Saturday night, and last night leahpia77 came along.

This was my first Burlesque Fest, but I'm not new to the form. Next year, I think Saturday is the only necessary night, and VIP seating is a must. The opening night was pretty good, but the time in between sets was torturous and filled with somewhat lame go-go dancing. Crowded as hell too; luckily, we found some shelves to sit atop. Sunday was the "Golden Pastie" awards, interspersed with acts--kind of anti-climatic. No, Saturday is the best. Oh the shit I saw...

My favorite act was by Diamondback Annie, from LA. She performed a Kiss tribute, Ace Freely make-up and all. The closer--I can't make this up--was a confetti cannon... strap-on! Magnificent. The French were also roundly spoofed by at least two different acts, one that included cake... lots of sliding around in cake. Mmm, cake... I also saw some gravity defying feats of strength; one was a pole dance duet, the other an aerial swing duet. Quality stuff. And the host, Murry Hill, really kept the show moving smoothly and hilariously. However, my favorite host EVER is still Scotty the Blue Bunny, who hosted Friday night. Miss Astrid was also pretty amusing last night. Eye patch and an Austrian accent. Can't beat that.

Good times. But what the hell to say at my stuffy corporate job tomorrow when everyone asks the obligatory, "What'd you do this weekend?" Maybe I'll say that I saw some friends. (And by friends I mean tits and ass.)

Meanwhile...
Celeste will be here tomorrow and we will dance dance dance!!!
